LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Barbara Evelyn Farr Turner, age 91, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at MUSC Lancaster. She was born March 29, 1929 in Taylors, SC, a daughter of the late Broadus Farr and Ruth Bagwell Farr, and was the wife of the late Randall Turner. Mrs. Turner was a nurse having previously worked at Chester Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed baking cakes for family and friends and cross-stitching. She also loved bowling and was a member of the Preachers and Wives Bowling League. Mrs. Turner was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, and was the events planner for the Joy Group.
Mrs. Turner is survived by two sons, Keith Turner, and Glenn (Tammy) Turner; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Gobble, Jessica (Mark) Byerly, Hannah Turner, Matthew Turner, Mike Hoturner; five great-grandchildren, Austin Leon, Avalyn Gobble, Eliza Gobble, Cara Byerly, and Olivia Byerly; a sister, Mary Ann Burgess; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Turner; a sister-in-law, Janet Farr; a niece, Renee Kistler; and two nephews, Wayne Farr and Bryan Burgess.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband, Randall; a son, Greg Turner; a brother, B.L. Farr; and a brother-in-law, Wallace Burgess.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Camp Creek Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Randy Mellichamp. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery.
