LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::: Ms. Barbara Knight Small, age 71, of 1858 Logan Terry Road died Friday, October 24, 2008 at her home. She was born October 2, 1937 in Portsmouth, Virginia, the daughter of the late Verlie Knight and Kathleen Allen Knight. Ms. Small retired from the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles in Lancaster after 23 years of service and was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church. She took great joy in her family, her godson and many friends. She sought to bring cheer to the lives of others. She loved the beauty of nature, the special little things of life, tending her flowers and fruit trees, and visiting the shut-ins.Ms. Small is survived by 2 sons, Michael Ray Small and Charles Bryan Small both of Lancaster, a daughter, Kathy Small McFadden of Monroe, NC, a brother, Tim R. Knight of Howardsville, VA, and her Godson, Justin D. Arant of Lancaster.Ms. Small was preceded in death by a brother, William F. "Bill" Knight.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Ms. Small will be 3:00 pm, Saturday afternoon, October 25, 2008 at Camp Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Randy Mellichamp and Rev. Don Waldrop with burial to follow in the church cemetery.The Family of Ms. Small will receive friends one hour before the service in the church fellowship hall and suggest memorial contributions be made to Camp Creek Baptist Church, Youth Ministry or Children's Ministry, 998 Potter Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or to Hospice of South Carolina, 412 N.
