L ANCASTER, SC~ Mrs. Barbara Ann Roecklein Heins, age 83, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her home.  She was born September 7, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Alfred Roecklein and Anna Marie Neppell Roecklein.  Mrs. Heins was employed at Buford Elementary School.  She loved teaching, reading, traveling, and watching Jeopardy and Blue Bloods.  Her true passion and joy in life came from her family and children. Her face would light up when her grands and great grands entered the room.  Mrs. Heins enjoyed her knitting club, making prayer shawls, and volunteering at HOPE.  She was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Heins is survived by two sons, Edward W. Heins (Shelly) of Colleville, TX, and Erick Richard Heins of Southold Long Island, NY; two daughters, Ellen Heins of Millbrook, AL, and Elissa Lynn Blackwell (Russell) of Lancaster; sixteen grandchildren, Michelle Heins,  Courtney Rhinehard, Corrie Wingard, Matthew Ash, Brett Ash, Lindsey Grathwohl, Jaimie Pirillo, Elisha Heins, Abilgail Gevinski, Steven Heins, Erika Watts, Krystina Payne, Devin Starnes, Josh and Matt Crow, and Corrine Ruther; twenty-one great grandchildren; and special friends, Marilyn Vrooman, Wendy Riner, Julia Edwards and The Staff at Buford Elementary.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Providence Care Hospice, 500 Lakeshore Pkwy, Rock Hill, SC 29730 or Reformation Lutheran Church, Building Fund, 508 N. French St., Lancaster, SC 29720.
