LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mrs. Barbara Joanne Hance Catoe, age 73 , died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born February 5, 1940 in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Julius Hance and Janie Rollins Hance and was the wife of Larry Catoe. Mrs. Catoe was a homemaker and a member of Elgin Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school.

Mrs. Catoe is survived by her husband, Larry Catoe of the home, a daughter, Angela Joy Catoe of Lancaster, a brother, Furman Hance and his wife Reba of Lancaster, a Nanny and protector to her beloved grandchildren, Dylan Catoe and Ginger Catoe Sims, and was Aunt Jo to her many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Catoe was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Manus, a grandchild, Harley Manus and two brothers, Derrick Hance and Bruce Hance.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Catoe will be 11:00 am Friday, October 4, 2013 at Elgin Baptist Church by Rev. Ben Nolan and Rev. Calvin Snipes. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The Family of Mrs. Catoe suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to The Levine Children's Hospital for Cancer Research, 1000 Blythe Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203.
