LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::: Mrs. Azilee "Tootsie" Sowell Workman, age 83, of 660 Faith Street died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born April 1, 1928 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Ernest Clifton Sowell and Dicie Ann Gardner Sowell and was the wife of the late William Richard Workman. Mrs. Workman retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church. Mrs. Workman is survived by 2 sons, Eddie Workman and his wife Suzane and Tony Workman and his wife Denise both of Lancaster, 2 brothers, Paul Sowell of Lancaster and Jim Sowell of Heath Springs, 4 sisters, Nell Martin of Lancaster, Maxine Roberts of Kershaw, Ann Knight of Stanley, NC and Molly Wallace of Lancaster, 4 grandchildren Jason Workman and his wife Kary, Erica Joefreda and her husband Todd, Kenny Workman and Chery Workman, and a great granddaughter, Addison Workman. Mrs. Workman was preceded in death by a son, Barry Workman, a brother, Curtis Sowell, and 2 sisters, Eva Turner and Kathleen Adams. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Workman will be 3:00 pm Friday, May 20, 2011 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home by Rev. Dr. Darrell Thompson. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mrs. Workman will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggests memorials be made to Hyde Park Baptist Church, 1898 Flat Creek Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
