Obituary
LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. Aulton R. Lucas, age 82, died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He was born March 17, 1931 in Great Falls, the son of the late Charles Murray Lucas and Rose Collins Lucas and was the husband of Macie Wrenn Lucas. Mr. Lucas retired from Springs Industries - Customer Service Center and was a member of the American Legion Post 31. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and served our great country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He loved to hunt and fish with Rocky.
Mr. Lucas is survived by his wife Macie Wrenn Lucas of the home, a son, Aulton R. "Rocky" Lucas, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Lancaster, two daughters, Marie Lucas Killian and her husband Tim also of Lancaster and Stacy Smith and her husband Tod of Kershaw, three sisters, Shirley Wynn and Jean Benton both of Fort Lawn and Jenny Baker of Lancaster, three grandchildren, Kylie L. Allen, Angela K. Steele and Macie Danielle Smith, and three great grandchildren, Laney Allen, Layla Allen and Ava Steele.
Mr. Lucas was preceded in death by a son, Roy Leonard Lucas, a daughter, Baby girl Lucas, a grandson, Mason Tod Smith, three brothers, Lyles Lucas, Banks Lucas, and Harley Lucas, five sisters, Eva Mae Lathan, Pauline Wilson, Nell Cameron, JoAnn Sanders, and Shelva Dean Hindman.
The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mr. Lucas will be 3:00 pm Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Lancaster Memorial Park by Rev. Brian Humphries and Rev. Ray Robinson with burial to follow.
The Family of Mr. Lucas will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00pm Monday evening, December 2, 2013 at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest memorials be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 508 Hampton Street, Suite 200, Columbia, SC 29201 or Grace United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 418, Lancaster, SC 29721.
