LANCASTER, SC :::::::::: Mr. Arthur Lee "Art" Swain, age 67, of 513 Warwick Place, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Providence Hospital in Columbia. He was born August 1, 1942 in North Pacolet, the son of the late Cecil Earl Swain and Georgia Brady Swain and was the husband of Martha Cox Swain. Mr. Swain retired in 1997 after a 30 year banking career starting with Bank of Lancaster to Wachovia, was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, and the School of Banking of the South through LSU. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, served on the Executive Board of the Gamecock Club, and was a former member of Lancaster Rotary Club, Sertoma Club and Lancaster Bassmasters. Mr. Swain is survived by his wife, Martha Cox Swain of the home, a son, Tim Swain and his wife Elaine of Lexington, a daughter, Shari Caskey and her husband Michael of Chesterfield, 5 grandchildren, Garrett, Madison and Matthew Swain and Kevin and Adam Caskey, and his beloved dog, Daisy. Mr. Swain was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil E. Swain, Jr. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Swain will be 11:00 am, Saturday, December 19, 2009 at First United Methodist Church by Rev. Dan Batson and Rev. Don Brown.
