INDIAN LAND, SC – Mr. Arist "Art" Doumtjes, age 88, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024. He was born July 13, 1935, in New York, NY, the son of the late Aristotiles George Doumtjes and the late Lillian Barbera Doumtjes and was the husband of the late Patricia Ann Smalley Doumtjes. Art proudly served in The United States Navy.

Art was driven by the love he had for his family and friends. Anyone that knew Art, knew that he would stop at nothing to get the absolute best for those people he cherished. He found joy in the simple moments; having a cup of coffee, enjoying a good meal, and soaking up the sunshine. His love for his wife never faded after her passing and he made sure to make her proud of him every day.

Art is survived by his two nieces, Kaitlyn O'Rourke Lepore (Ottavio), and Patricia O'Rourke Egbert.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Doumtjes; his daughter, Claudia Doumtjes; his parents, Aristotiles and Lillian Doumtjes; and his sister, Katherine Torricelli.
