LANCASTER, SC :::::::::: Mr. Archie Palmer Niven, Jr., age 86, of 5987 Charlotte Hwy., died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at his home. He was born July 6, 1923 in Lancaster County, the son of the late Archie Palmer Niven Sr. and Fannie Knight Niven and was the husband of Ida Lemmond Niven. Mr. Niven retired from CSX Railroad, was a Mason with Indian Land Masonic Lodge, a member of the Shrine Hejaz Temple; Scottish Rite, Charlotte, NC Valley, a life long member of Osceola United Methodist Church and served our great country in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Niven is survived by his wife, Ida Lemmond Niven of the home, a daughter, Sandra N. Schmidt and her husband Rudy of Lancaster, a son, Archie Palmer Niven, III and his wife Kelly of Doniphan, MO, 3 grandchildren; James Hans Schmidt, Russell Niven Schmidt, and Suzanne S. Hodges, a step grandson, Banks Stallings, III and a great grandchild, Ethan Michael Stallings. The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mr. Niven will be 2:00 pm, Saturday afternoon, September 19, 2009 at Osceola United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. Ed Galloway and Rev. Bert Watson with burial to follow.
