LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Annie M. Stokes Byrd Pepper, age 92, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at White Oak Manor. She was born July 24, 1921 in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Shelton Hudson Stokes and Josephine Neal Stokes. Mrs. Pepper was married twice, first to the late William B. Byrd and then to the late Wallace E. Pepper. She was a retired LPN from Springs Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mrs. Pepper is survived by a daughter, Robbie Jo Byrd of Lancaster, one grandson, Michael Robert Viglione, Sr. (Catherine), two great grandsons, Michael Robert Viglione, Jr. (Stephanie) and Anthony Joseph Viglione, one step-son, Grant Pepper, a sister, Sarah Lowery and her husband Pat of Lancaster, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Pepper was preceded in death by two sons, William Britt Byrd and Charles Byrd and two half-sisters, Lillie Bell Clemmer and Pearl Campbell.
The Service of Remembrance for Mrs. Pepper will be 3:00 pm Sunday, July 6, 2014 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home. The service will be presided by President Daniel Schaupp and conducted by Carson Blue. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The Family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC and the family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to a Charity of Your Choice.
