MYRTLE BEACH, SC ~ Ms. Annie Ruth Snipes Catoe, age 78, passed away on August 1, 2026. She was born on November 13, 1947, in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of the late Clyde Snipes and the late Alma Mackey Snipes.

She was a simple woman who enjoyed simple things – she absolutely loved her family, she enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, and playing on her phone and computer.

Annie is lovingly survived by three daughters, Martha Pate (Lloyd) of Bethune, SC, Sandra Dawkins (Todd) of Heath Springs, SC, and Angela Tucker (Joseph) of Ohio; thirteen adored grandchildren; numerous beloved great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda King (Charles), Debbie Robinson, and Jane Snipes; and two cousins, Jessie Snipes and Randy Snipes.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Alma Snipes; the father of her children, James Bobby Catoe; a daughter, Denise Carnes; two sisters, Doris Smith and Faye Hollingsworth; and a great-grandson, Remy.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Annie will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Tim Larrimore. Burial will follow at Charlesboro Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on August 6, 2026, at Burgess Funeral Home of Lancaster, SC.
