LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Barbara Ann Carnes Knight , age 79, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at MUSC Chester surrounded by her family.  She was born May 29, 1941 in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Simon Roy Carnes and Katie Carnes and was the wife of Joe Reece Knight.  Ann was employed with Rays Flowers and enjoyed working with flowers.   She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and especially spending time with her grandsons.  Ann delivered for Meals on Wheels and loved helping others.  She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she sang in choir, helped with the bereavement committee, pillowcase ministry for the military, and shoe box ministry.  Ann loved being an active part of the lady's ministry at Bethlehem.

Ann is survived by her husband, Joe R. Knight; her son, David W. Knight (Deborah Cox Knight); two grandchildren, Michael W. Knight (Alisia Wright), and Julian C. Knight (Savannah Catoe); a special nephew, Dougie Carnes; and extended family and friends.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Joseph Carnes.

The Celebration of Life Service for Ann will be 2:00 pm Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Bethlehem Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Patrick Blackmon.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, in the church fellowship hall.  For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1841 N. Rocky River Rd., Lancaster, SC 29720.
