LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Andrew "Andy" Walton Caudill, age 87, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022, at his home surrounded by family.  He was born August 8, 1934, in Smithville, NC, a son of the late Hubert Caudill and Edna Alford Caudill Wilder. Andy was the husband of Peggy Smith Caudill.  Andy graduated from Tarboro High School in 1952 and East Carolina University in 1958.  He had a lifetime love of music, particularly Jazz and Bluegrass.  He was musically talented along with his love of music; he played drums in high school, college, praise band at church, and United States Army Band from 1954-1956, 98 ^th US Army band at Fort Rucker, AL.  After graduation, he lived in Monroe, NC for five years, where he met and married Peggy and their daughter, Terry was born.  After moving to Lancaster, SC in 1963, he was a member of Lancaster Jaycees, Lancaster County Library Board,  Lancaster County Arts Council, and Lancaster County Rotary, past club president, and member since November 1984. He was a pillar with perfect attendance for over 30 years - from his joining to him becoming an honorary member about five years ago. He was a very active and vital part of our community.  Andy retired as Purchasing and Materials Manager from Morrison Textiles.  Andy was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Andy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggy Smith Caudill; a daughter, Terry C. Schonberg (Stefan) of Roseville, CA; and a granddaughter, Ellen Schonberg.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents.

The Celebration of Life Service for Andy will be 3:00 pm Thursday, June 23, 2022, at First United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Neal Woods.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the church.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Gay St., Lancaster, SC 29720 or a charity of your choice.
