LANCASTER, SC::::::::::::: Mrs. Anasue Roddey Love, "Itoo" peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, September 2, 2010. Itoo, as she was affectionately known as by family and friends, was the owner and buyer of The Dianne Shop in Lancaster, SC having inherited the children's clothing shop on the death of her mother, Beulah Mae Roddey, in 1992. Mrs. Love was an active member of First Baptist Church in Lancaster. She was a child of the Great Depression and a member of The Greatest Generation. In addition, she was a former beauty pageant judge and enjoyed traveling state-wide to judge numerous pageants. She had an extraordinary talent for grooming girls and young women to be successful competitors.Her husband of 55 years, Charles Ray Love, Jr. predeceased her in 1995. She is survived by her son, Charles Ray Love of the home; her daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Bobby Bruner of Gulf Breeze, FL. Grandchildren: Stewart Love of Edgewater, MD; Lori and Rob Penland of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Laney and Afredo Canhoto of Framingham, MA; and Robert Bruner of Gulf Breeze, FL. Great grandchildren: Eamon, Eoin, Hallie, Ruan, and Liam Penland of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and Carolina and Elisabeth Canhoto of Framingham, MA and of course, her much loved and constant companion, Trooper. Nieces: Merrio Barton of Lancaster, SC; Doda Small of Lancaster, SC; Jan and Derrell Sipes of Irmo, SC; Tina and Desi Gulley of West Point, VA; Susan Gipson of York, SC; Libby and Jeff Woodruff of Irmo, SC; and Carol Stewart of Aiken, SC.Mrs. Love was the oldest of four siblings, three of whom predeceased her: Frank L. "Son" Roddey, Lib Roddey Cauthen and Tine Roddey Stewart. The Family expresses their gratitude to Kathy Sistare and Dr. Michael F. Kimbrell for their care and concern during Mrs. Love's brief illness.The Family requests there be no visitation at her home. The Family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Hartley Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Love will be 3:00 pm Sunday, September 5, 2010 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home and in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society 126 Main Street, Lancaster SC 29720.
