WAXHAW, NC ~ Amy Elizabeth Ford passed to eternal life on June 4, 2024.  Amy's earthly life began Sept. 15, 1972, in Georgetown SC.  Her life was good; only grandchild on both sides, plenty of friends, and close to the amusements of Myrtle Beach.

This good life was interrupted in 1980 when the family moved to Vicksburg MS.  She quickly got over the move and made new friends.  She graduated from Warren Central HS (Vicksburg) and decided to move back to SC and live with Gram while attending USC Lancaster.  After graduating from this 2-year school, she decided to move back to MS and enrolled in Delta State University to major in Aviation Management.

Amy was not the type to work behind a desk, or in a management job, she wanted to fly.  After working an internship and continuing to build flight time, she started flying with North West Airlines in Memphis. After 20 years of flying, she moved to American Airlines in Charlotte NC in the training and testing division.

After moving to Charlotte, her circle of friends grew and she became active in Forest Hill Church and later Southbrook Church.  While at Forest Hill she went on a mission trip to Guatemala.  What she saw broke her heart.  She really wanted to go on another trip there but couldn't.  Her other passion was her 2 horses adopted from a rescue ranch.  Of course, owning horses opened up yet another circle of friends.

Amy is survived by her parents, Frank and Susan Ford – Lancaster SC; her sister, Anna (Matt) Spurlin – Wesley Chapel NC; and niece, Julianna; and nephew, Hunter Spurlin.

Her life will be honored with a celebration of life service at Southbrook Church on Saturday June 8 at 2:00 pm.  Visitation will precede the service from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.
