LANCASTER, SC::::::::: Mr. Alfred "Freddie" Lee Byrdic, age 58, of 2472 Beckham Lane, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family Wednesday evening, January 26, 2011. He was born January 11, 1953 in Lancaster County, the son of Bobby Lee Byrdic and Mary Sue Cooper Byrdic and was the husband of Jeanette Sellers Byrdic. Mr. Byrdic worked for 30 years for Lehigh Lancaster now Thomas & Betts and more recently with Leiner Health Products. After being disabled in 2008 with a pulmonary fibrosis diagnosis; Freddie enjoyed quality time with his family and most importantly with his grandson Taylor.Mr. Byrdic is survived by his wife Jeanette Sellers Byrdic of the home, his parents Bobby Lee and Mary Sue Byrdic of Lancaster, a son, Jonathan Byrdic of Lancaster, a daughter, Crystal Byrdic Burr of Lancaster, a grandson, Taylor Burr, 2 brothers, Chuck Byrdic and his wife Donna and Kenny Byrdic and his wife Kathy both of Lancaster, 2 sisters, Donna Adams and her husband Wayne and Rhonda Faile and her husband Ronny both of Lancaster. Mr. Byrdic was preceded by a brother, Dennis Byrdic. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Byrdic will be 3:00 pm Saturday, January 29, 2011 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.The Family of Mr. Byrdic will receive friends from 1:30 - 3:00 Saturday, January29, 2011 at Hartley Funeral Home and the family suggest memorials to Duke University Medical Center, Attn: Lung Transplant Program, 330 Trent Drive Room 137, Durham NC 27710.
