**UPDATED OBIT**

INDIAN LAND, SC ~ Mr. Alan Caldwell, age 85, passed away Monday, November 20, 2023. He was born January 8, 1938, in Ramey, PA, a son of the late John Caldwell and the late Pearl Elizabeth Rupert Caldwell and was the husband of Mary Marshall Caldwell. Mr. Caldwell was a graduate of Ohio State University. He enjoyed playing golf, bridge, and poker.

Mr. Caldwell is survived by his wife of 62 years; Mary Caldwell; his son, John Alexander Caldwell (Katrina) of Michigan; his daughter, Denise Marie Caldwell Chetty (Robert) of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Noah Alexander Caldwell, Bryce James Caldwell, and Brynn Marie Caldwell, Robert Alan Chetty, and Erin Melanie Chetty; his sister, Geradline Decker; and his sister-in-law, Frances Caldwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and six siblings, Myrtle Louise Souphart (Raymond), Thomas A. Caldwell (Sadie), Arlene Ricciotti (Sam), Jack Caldwell (Sylvia), Don Caldwell (Ann), and Clayton Caldwell; and his brother-in-law, Steele Decker.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Caldwell will be 2:00 pm Friday, December 1, 2023, at Osceola United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Mallory Nickerson. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
