LANCASTER, SC ~ Ms. Adela Nicole Monsalvo, age 18, went home Friday, June 14, 2019 at Grandstrand Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC.  She was born September 18, 2000 in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of Lucio Monsalvo and Kala Harris Monsalvo.  Adela graduated in May from Lancaster High School.  Her plans were to pursue a career in Cosmetology.  Adela loved to fix hair and do makeup.  She was a very happy, independent young woman who loved country music and sunflowers.  Adela cared deeply for others and her sassy, feisty personality never overshadowed her kind and loving heart.

Adela is survived by her father, Lucio Monsalvo; her mother, Kala Monsalvo; her second father, Jesus Cordova Hernandez; her second mother, Cristal Rodriguez; three brothers, Jonathan Monsalvo and his fiancée, Brooke Penegar, Kevin Monsalvo, and Braxton Cordova; three sisters, Kayleigh Monsalvo, Camila Monsalvo, and Emily Rodriguez; her grandmother, Adela Madero; and a special extended family member, Patty Penegar.

Adela was preceded in death by her grandmother, Nancy Faye Harris.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Adela will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Carmen Perez and Rev. Howard Penegar.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster, SC.  Memorials may be made on behalf of Adela to Burgess Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1743, Lancaster, SC 29721 to help with expenses.
