LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Addie Mae Rogers Causey, age 86, passed away peacefully at MUSC- Lancaster on Friday,, January 10, 2020. She was born August 23, 1933 in Zion, SC a daughter of the late Curtis Rogers and Mattie Collins Avant and was the wife of the late Roland Causey. Mrs. Causey worked at the Lancaster County Council of Aging. She loved her family and her church. Mrs. Causey enjoyed quilting and witnessing to others, sharing the gospel. She served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. Causey was a member of Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Mrs. Causey is survived by a son, Ed Causey (Renee) of Summerton, SC; three daughters, Judy Mae Barton (Malcolm) of Lancaster, SC, Wanda Bryson (Tommy) of Whiteville, NC, and Nancy Vick (Doug) of Heath Springs, SC; nine grandchildren, Dawn Lewis, Nikki Berry, Phillip Barton, Josh Bryson, Justin Bryson, Crystal Wright, James Vick, Jessica Black and Bryan Langdale; and seventeen great grandchildren.
Mrs. Causey was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Causey; a daughter, Wendy Dewitt; her parents; a sister, Vonita Raspberry; and a son-in-law, Kevin Dewitt
The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Causey will be 2:00 pm Monday, January 13, 2020 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Debra Whitesides and Dr. Tommy Bryson. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 –2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster, SC and suggest memorial contributions be made to Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1824 Airport Rd., Lancaster, SC 29720.
