LANCASTER, SC :::::::::::Mrs. Ada Starnes Threatt, age 92, died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at White Oak Manor. She was born June 13, 1920 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Leonard Starnes and Nannie Knight Starnes and was the wife of the late Lawson Clarence Threatt. Mrs. Threatt was employed with Springs Industries for many years and later retired from Roses Department Store. She was an active member of White Springs Baptist Church, was a member of the Morning Circle and went on Mission trips. Mrs. Threatt is survived by a son, Rev. Maxie Threatt and his wife Saundra of Milledgeville, GA, three daughters, Mary Williams and her husband Lonnie and Sybil Sellers and her husband Howard all of Lancaster, Betty Childers and her husband Gene of Fort Lawn, a daughter in law, Sue Threatt of Lancaster, nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.Mrs. Threatt was preceded in death by a son, Donald L. Threatt, a grandson, Chris Threatt, two brothers, William Starnes and Ira Starnes and one sister, Margaret "Ruth" Wright.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Threatt will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at White Springs Baptist Church by Rev. Steve Owens. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mrs. Threatt will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday evening, November 6, 2012 at Hartley - Burgess Funeral Home and suggests memorials be made to White Springs Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1249 Grace Avenue, Lancaster, SC 29720.
