Carl Edward Langley



HEATH SPRINGS, SC - Mr. Carl Edward Langley, age 69, a devoted husband, father and grandfather went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 7, 2017. He was born in Kershaw, SC, the son of the late Edward and Vera Lee Ellis Langley. Carl was a Vietnam Veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Marine Corps League Lancaster Leathernecks, was a foster parent for 37 years and a member of Fork Hill Baptist Church.

Carl is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy Blackmon Langley, eight children, Michelle Arioli (Butch), Carlene Henderson (Robert), Kathy Dease (Jamie), Courtney Sullivan, Meghan Langley, Amber Langley, Rebecca Langley, and Preston Langley; two foster daughters, Terry Mason and Crystal Nance; twelve grandchildren, Ryan and Zach Arioli, Naomi, Lacey, Santanna, Savannah, Austin and Michael Henderson, Megan and Liam Dease, Creighan and Laykin Sullivan, and Chadley Grace (due in May); and two great grandchildren, Kaylee Oneal and Braxton Henderson.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; and a son-in-law, Chad Eric Sullivan.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Carl will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Fork Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Kenny Pittman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday evening, May 9, 2017 at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Fork Hill Baptist Church, 1125 Fork Hill Road, Heath Springs, SC 29058.
